With the Easter holidays upon us, families will be eagerly looking for things to do to keep children entertained – and, as luck would have it, the UK’s biggest outdoor water park is opening back up.
Splashdown, Quaywest will be reopening on Good Friday, and will be open for the entire Easter bank holiday weekend.
The waterpark, in Devon, will then shut its doors again until the early May bank holiday, May 3-5, and will then continue to open up every weekend in May and June.
Splashdown will then be open every day throughout July and August, ready for the summer holidays.
The Torbay park has something for everyone, including a huge water playground, called Shipwreck Island, for the younger ones, and eight slides perfect for adrenaline junkies.
It’s even home to the highest, fastest flume in the UK, the Devil’s Drop, on which thrill-seekers shoot down a 65ft, almost vertical drop into a black hole.
And friends can race against each other, on mats, on one of the park’s newest slides, 3Fall.
As well as slides, Splashdown has a 20m swimming pool, plus a restaurant where guests can go for a bite to eat after working up an appetite from all the screaming.

One person on Tripadvisor says they ‘really enjoyed their two hour visit’ to Splashdown.
They add: ‘Visited during a heatwave (luckily) so it was quite busy but it didn’t feel overcrowded. Queues for most rides but all moved quite quickly – longest queues were for the rides with the inflatable rings.’
Day tickets to Splashdown are £30 for adults (age nine and up), and tickets for children aged five to eight are £25, or four-hour tickets are also available for £17.
