Morning Joe star claims Trump’s congress speech was ‘written by ChatGPT’ as he lobs insults at president

Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough branded President Trump’s address to Congress as being ‘written by ChatGPT’, and goaded Trump for branding himself ‘the greatest’.

The commander-in-chief vowed to keep up his campaign of ‘swift and unrelenting action’ in his address before Congress on Tuesday night.

Throughout his speech Trump also saw fit to ridicule his predecessor, make bold exaggerations amid a string of made-for-television moments.

On Wednesday morning, Scarborough ridiculed the speech right off the bat, blasting Trump for it.

He said: ‘It really was almost like it was written by ChatGPT. I was thinking like the fifth verse, same as first, second, third, fourth.

‘You know, there were the insults, there were the taunts, there were the exaggerations. There was a partisanship, top to bottom.

‘There were personal attacks. The facts that were just wrong, whether it was the US spending more money on Ukraine or calling himself the greatest president.’

He added: ‘There’s just so much nonsense. I cannot believe an independent voter wouldn’t look at this speech and just turn it off and just go, enough’s enough.

During his speech Trump also mentioned that his first month as president was ‘the most successful’ in the history of the US.

He added that the president that came second as being the most successful was George Washington.

Scarborough hit out at that claim also, saying: ‘By the way, did you hear? That number two was George Washington?

‘I have not seen the historical treatise on that yet. But that’s what President Trump said last night.’

Scarborough and his co-host Mika Brzezinski, who is also his wife, have had a contentious relationship with President Trump since he entered politics.

In November, they said that they had visited Trump at his Florida home after their years long feud, despite Scarborough previously likening him to Adolf Hitler.

At the time, Brzezinski said they decided to reach out to Trump due to their viewers expressing fear over his election win.

Brzezinski shared that Trump was cheerful during their meeting and seemed interested in finding common ground with Democrats.

However, Scarborough concluded by telling viewers they will not stop their criticism of the president-elect.

Trump used to be routine contributor to Morning Joe, and Scarborough was an early cheerleader for the billionaire’s maverick bid for the GOP nomination in 2016.

But relations soured as Trump pulled off a surprise victory in the Republican primaries and began to look like a serious challenger to the Democrats’ Hillary Clinton.

The show became a bastion of the Democratic establishment after Trump’s first term, with President Biden routinely tuning in while doing his morning exercises.

With Trump in the White House and Scarborough engaged to co-host Brzezinski he began cementing his show’s identity as an outpost of opposition to the new administration.

The couple even recorded a Christmas album called ‘A Very Drumpf Christmas’ with songs portraying the president as Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

It eventually attracted the attention of Trump, who delivered a series of put-downs, labeling Scarborough ‘Psycho Joe’ and his then-fiancée as ‘low IQ Crazy Mika’.

Trump also mischievously claimed she had been ‘bleeding badly from a face-lift’ during a visit to his Mar-a-Lago estate.

Brzezinski later confirmed she’d been recovering from cosmetic surgery during the trip.

The feud deepened when Trump revived long-debunked claims that Scarborough had been involved in the death of his former congressional staffer who was found dead on his office floor in 2001.

An autopsy found that Lori Bolterstein Klausutis, 28, had hit her head on a desk after collapsing from an undiagnosed heart-valve irregularity but Trump called for a fresh investigation into the case.

The allegations earned Trump his first rebuke from Twitter, which would eventually kick him off the platform altogether in January 2021.
