A hate-fueled suspect launched a “targeted terror attack’’ in Colorado on Sunday — lobbing molotov cocktails at participants at an outdoor commemoration for Israeli hostages still in Gaza, officials said.
Witnesses told CBS Colorado that they saw a suspect approach the crowd and hurl molotov cocktails at them.
“We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado,’’ FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X just before 5:30 p.m.

“Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available.”
The walk was hosted by Run For Their Lives, which asserted that the weekly gathering was “not a protest; it is a peaceful walk to show solidarity with the hostages and their families, and a plea for their release.”
The walk started at 1 p.m. and trailed down Pearl Street and 8th Street before heading to the Pearl Street Mall, where the attack took place. They were set to stop at the local courthouse for a video as well.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis condemned the attack and assured that he will provide updates when available.

“I am closely monitoring the situation in Boulder, and my thoughts go out to the people who have been injured and impacted by this heinous act of terror. Hate-filled acts of any kind are unacceptable,” Polis wrote in a post on X.
Photos circulating have depicted a shirtless man at the scene holding two bottles of a clear liquid and later being detained by police.
It is unclear how many people were injured. The Boulder Police Department has not released any further details. Police have ordered that everyone avoid the surrounding area.
